Pretty Petals by Carmen Nordback won First Place - Small Wall Quilts: 1st Entry in an AQS Paducah Quilt Contest (Sponsored by The Appliqué Society) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024. Carmen says of her quilt, "Flowers, appliqué and polka dots are just a few of my favorite things. My quilt was based on the pattern Aunt Millie's Garden by Piece O'Cake Designs. I made the quilt my own by changing the border. I accomplished this by dividing the border fabrics with the vine and continuing the floral design around the whole quilt. The border was a bit of a challenge but I'm pleased with the result." Quilted by Becky Leitch, Carmen's quilt also received an Honorable Mention in the Appliqué category at Road to California 2023. | ||
