When clients face burnout, I start by helping them recognize it as a signal, not a flaw. We identify specific stressors and work on setting boundaries to protect their time for rest and rejuvenation. I emphasize the importance of asking for help, delegating, and adopting stress management techniques like mindfulness. I also develop a routine that includes activities outside of work to support their well-being. Addressing underlying issues is critical for long-term satisfaction and aligning their work with their values and goals. Finally, I offer support and accountability, guiding them toward a healthier balance and a more fulfilling professional path.

When clients are feeling overwhelmed and burnt out, it is important to help them set boundaries. This means helping them figure out what is that is causing their stress and deciding what they can and can not handle. Teach them to say no to extra work, give some tasks to others, and take regular breaks. Help them make a plan to balance work and life so they don't feel so drained. Boundaries are like fences that protect their time and energy.

Self-care is a vital tool to beat the burnout-stress. Stress is caused when we don’t have energy to complete tasks in hand within a set time limit. To be successful in competitive world, we cannot reduce the work or increase the time frame, so only thing we can change is our energy levels. Our energy can be increased by breathing consciously and by meditating. It is my personal experience that 20 mins of meditation gives energy to work for 2 more hours productively.

We’ve been brought up thinking, at least in the Christian culture, that taking care of ourselves first is egoistic. But only if we’re in good shape we can be the best partner, parent, employee, or business partner.Takings care of ourselves is as easy as starting with a 15 minute a day walk in nature, preferably forest or beach because the energy and sounds there are calming and grounding. When a burned out person wants advice from me it’s what I tell them to do. An easy start without having to apply massive changes to their lives. The benefits are observable within weeks.

Coaches need to inform their clients in the very beginning that coaches are not able to provide any therapy or mental health support. It is not in the scope of coaching or mentoring.Tell the coachee that coaching is about helping them set goals, identify obstacles, and create a roadmap toward reaching there. Respectfully tell them that burnout seems an obstacle if that is the case. Suggest that they consult with a mental health professional. They should understand that taking care of burnout or any other mental health issue is about reclaiming energy and focus that will help them move faster in that direction.

I have found that some clients have unresolved trauma at the root of their burnout, so I do recommend specialist trauma therapy.I've also had a few clients who have been exasperated with talking therapies and have felt they've made more progress with our coaching sessions. It's key therefore for all professionals to understand their limitations, be ethical and be guided by clients needs.

Acknowledging burnout is the first step, then put in place an action plan:1. Work with your client to identify the root cause of the burnout and why it happened. If it's over workload for instance, work on an assessment of the situation with your clients and concrete action plan to fix the issue.Burnout can be linked to relationship. Personality traits can be triggered by specific people. Identify them! And teach your client how to recognise them and address them with special techniques. 2. In some cases, resigning or moving from a job that is causing burnout is the best solution. It't ok. Help your client close this chapter, transition smoothly from the current role and prepare for what is next.

Here are 3 ways I would help my client that is experiencing burnout:1. Listen actively: Let them express their feelings and frustrations without judgment.2. Normalize burnout: Explain that burnout is a common experience and offer empathy and support.3. Explore workload: Is the workload unmanageable? Are deadlines unrealistic?
